1. Introduction
Studio Mudita ("we", "our", "us"), operated by Nruthasabesan Sundaramurthy, built the Akshara app as a community sacred practice tracker. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
By using Akshara, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about our practices.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's functionality:
- Account information: your email address and display name, collected when you create an account via Firebase Authentication.
- Practice data: the names of your practices, session counts, dates, and streak history that you record in the app.
- Group data: group names, membership, and collective practice counts when you participate in community practices.
- Usage data: anonymous analytics about how the app is used, collected via Firebase Analytics (screen views, feature usage). This data does not identify you personally.
- Crash data: technical error reports via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. These reports do not include your personal practice data.
3. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account
- To store and display your personal practice history and streaks
- To enable group practices and show collective progress to group members
- To improve the app's reliability and fix technical issues
- To respond to your support requests
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes. We do not share your personal practice data with anyone outside your groups.
4. Third-party services
Akshara uses the following Google Firebase services, which are governed by Google's Privacy Policy:
- Firebase Authentication: manages your login credentials
- Cloud Firestore: stores your practice data securely
- Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage statistics
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash and error reporting

5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers. We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your practice data is associated with your account and is not publicly visible unless you explicitly share it within a group.
6. Children's privacy
Akshara is intended for users aged 7 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 7. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Users between 7 and 13 years of age should use the app only with parental consent and supervision.

You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Withdrawal of consent: stop using the app and request data deletion at any time
